Commercial Operations Coordinator 1847 Stone Milling — Fergus, ON (on-site with hybrid flexibility)
About Us
1847 Stone Milling works directly with Ontario farmers to source organic grains and mill them using traditional stone milling methods. Our mission: exceptional flour from Canadian-grown grains, support for local farmers, and real food back in everyday kitchens. We're growing quickly, and this role is a key part of that growth.
The Role
You'll support the day-to-day flow of product and information from farm to mill to customer. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role at the intersection of customers, suppliers, and operations — not a narrow customer service job. You'll take ownership, solve problems, and keep things moving.
What You'll Do
- Manage retail and wholesale orders; respond to customer emails and calls; resolve shipping issues
- Track inventory of grains and finished products, flag low stock, and support demand planning
- Coordinate with grain farmers on harvest timing, volumes, and deliveries; help onboard new organic suppliers
- Coordinate grain testing (protein, ash, etc.) and organize lab results
- Monitor supply reliability and flag risks early
- Support organic certification documentation and lot traceability
- Monitor order accuracy and shipping timelines; help improve fulfillment processes
Who You Are
- 1–3 years of experience in operations, customer service, agriculture, food, or supply chain
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable — you follow through
- Comfortable speaking with both customers and farmers
- Practical, solutions-focused, and willing to step in wherever needed
- Motivated by building something real — not waiting to be told what to do
Experience with farmers, agriculture programs, or organic supply chains is an asset.
Location: Fergus, Ontario. Primarily on-site; not a fully remote position.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
