Shanti Psychotherapy is a well-established, community-rooted clinic serving children, youth, adults, couples and families across diverse cultural communities in Toronto. Our experienced Danforth clinicians are currently full and we are expanding to meet high client demand.
We are currently seeking an experienced clinician to join our in-person team at our Danforth & Pape location.
We are particularly interested in therapists with strong experience working within culturally diverse communities and encourage applications from clinicians with lived experience and/or deep cultural competence in this area.
This role is best suited for a confident, independent clinician ready to grow their private practice in a referral-rich group.
This is not a suitable position for new graduates or those requiring intensive supervision. Currently our RP Q program is full for new applications.

Current Independent Contractor Positions:
Position 1: Tagalog or Thai-Speaking Therapist
We have a current need to better serve Tagalog- and Thai-speaking clients in our community, many of whom prefer or require therapy in their first language. Fluency in Tagalog or Thai, sufficient to conduct full therapy sessions in-language, is required for this role to meet this specific service need.
Position 2: Child Therapist
We're seeking an experienced clinician with strong comfort working with children, and solid grounding in age-appropriate therapeutic modalities, to build a caseload of child and youth clients.
Position 3: French Speaking Therapist
We have a current need to better serve our French speaking clients in our community, many of whom prefer or require therapy in their first language. Fluency in French, sufficient to conduct full therapy sessions in-language, is required for this role to meet this specific service need.
Position 4: Therapist — Underrepresented Communities Program
Shanti Psychotherapy is expanding language and cultural access for clients whose communities are not currently reflected among our clinical team. As part of this initiative, we're seeking a clinician who can offer therapy informed by cultural context and, ideally, in a language other than English.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Registered and in good standing with CRPO or OCSWSSW
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-registration clinical experience
- Demonstrated experience managing a full caseload independently
- Strong case conceptualization and treatment planning skills
- Experience working with adults, couples, families, and/or youth
- Availability for in-person sessions at Danforth & Pape (minimum 15 hours/week)
- Availability for at least 1 evening or 1 weekend day
- Professional liability insurance
- Comfortable using Jane App
Strong Assets
- Extensive experience working with diverse clients and families
- Trauma Therapy, EMDR, IFS, DBR, attachment-based, or other trauma-focused modalities
- Couples therapy experience
- Experience with intergenerational trauma and culturally responsive therapy
- Multilingual
