The hiring committee is seeking industry experts with a passion for teaching and learning and strong commitment to ensuring students develop applied skills and specialized knowledge.
Applicants should have 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, including demonstrated success developing and executing online marketing strategies and building owned, earned, and paid media campaigns for acquisition, conversion, retention, and growth objectives across B2C and B2B contexts. Experience with SEO, paid search, display advertising, and social media marketing is required. Candidates are expected to bring recent, relevant examples of strategies they have developed and implemented, along with current hands-on expertise to clearly demonstrate key processes and tools in practice. A balance of strategic perspective and tactical proficiency is essential for teaching these courses.
Additional specialized skillsets are required for these courses:
- For MKTG 3527 (Customer Experience), applicants should have a strong foundation in consumer behaviour, segmentation, and customer journey mapping and design.
- For MKTG 3859 (Marketing Analytics), applicants should have applied experience with web and app analytics, including tools such as Google Analytics, data interpretation, reporting, and using insights to inform marketing decisions.
- For MKTG 4431 (Digital Marketing for Tourism), demonstrated experience in the tourism sector is required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong self-direction and leadership, the ability to adapt quickly to new environments, and a commitment to supporting the next generation of marketers, as shown through mentoring or related experience. They will also bring experience coaching, teaching, or managing teams in marketing strategy development and execution contexts.
Candidates without prior teaching experience at BCIT will be encouraged to complete the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) and Educational Technology training offered through BCIT’s Learning and Teaching Centre (https://www.bcit.ca/learning-teaching-centre/ltc-workshops/instructional-skills-workshops-isw/ and https://www.bcit.ca/learning-teaching-centre/ltc-workshops/educational-technology-training/ ) if they do not already have this preparation.
