Scrum Master:
On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a Scrum Master for a 12 month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Calgary or Edmonton offices.
Scrum Master - Job Description:
Join a dynamic team to facilitate and coordinate Agile Scrum processes across multiple projects. This role focuses on guiding teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently while ensuring adherence to Agile principles. Collaborate closely with a Project/Program Manager to keep projects on track and drive continuous improvement.
Scrum Master - Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum events such as daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective
- Work with Product Managers to prioritize and maintain the product backlog
- Identify and troubleshoot obstacles that hinder the team’s progress
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback sessions
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders
- Track KPIs and help teams deliver high-quality products/solutions on time
- Ensure that the team follows the Scrum framework and adheres to Agile principles
- Create and maintain status reports for leadership
Scrum Master - Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master
- Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Scrum Master – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Retail energy industry experience
- General conceptual understanding of programming and DB querying
- Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
- SAFe certification and Kanban certification are a plus
- Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as Jira or Trello
