Overview
We are looking to add another Spray Tech to our team. The Spray Technician in the Overhauls & Pumps Department is responsible for applying surface finish coatings to specific pump and compressor components to extend their usability for customers. They will be responsible for operating and maintaining wire feed spray weld machine and powder feed HVOF spray machines. Concerned with quality, safety and efficiency they will use their experience and judgement to deliberately and systematically carry out each task to maximize value and minimize waste. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in technical work within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and organize assignments by studying work orders, drawings, components, and specifications to determine setup requirements to systematically achieve appropriate coating application for the workpiece.
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of equipment and tools such as grit blaster, ARC spray welder, HVOF machine, manual lathe, spray booth, cranes, measuring tools and more.
- Complete the necessary paperwork for each job to facilitate the required business functions.
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform inspections and basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of raw material and consumable parts to support the thermal spray process, effectively eliminating any down time.
- Understand and adhere to all organizational health and safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of self and others.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma. Any relatable skilled trade considered an asset.
- Work Experience: 5+ years preferred. Experience in a similar role desired.
- Skills: Excellent coordination and mechanical skills. Strong attention to detail. Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge: Thermal spray coating equipment & process. Rotating equipment and industrial machinery. Reciprocating compressor components and pump fundamentals an asset.
Schedule
- Rotating Shift (2 weeks of days, 2 weeks afternoon shift)
- Day shift: Monday - Friday (8-hour days)
- Afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday (10-hour days)
- Will require overtime.
