Job Overview
We are looking for a Plumbing / Mechanical Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and quotations for plumbing and mechanical projects ranging from simple service repairs to large-scale capital projects. This role requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication with clients, suppliers, and internal staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates and quotations for plumbing and mechanical repairs, maintenance, and project work.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documents as required.
- Perform material take-offs and quantity calculations.
- Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare detailed proposals, budgets, and tender submissions.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and project risks.
- Work closely with project managers, service coordinators, and field staff to ensure accurate project handoffs.
- Assist with change order pricing and project cost tracking as required.
- Maintain current pricing databases and supplier relationships.
- Complete tasks as required by director.
Qualifications
- Previous estimating or general experience in the plumbing and/or mechanical industry.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, mechanical equipment, and repair methods.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
