Hydrodig Lethbridge is seeking a skilled and dedicated hydrovac helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the hydrovac operator with equipment to safely excavate and expose underground utilities while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Opportunities to advance to operator positions and other equipment are available for candidates that work hard, demonstrate a willingness to learn and have integrity. This role requires an understanding of heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge, as well as the ability to work in various environmental conditions. Work is all year round.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid class 5 driver's license and have own transportation to the shop in Lethbridge. Air brake endorsement and class 3 license would be an asset. Must live in Lethbridge.
- Specify if you have an air brake ticket. Specify what class of driver's license you have.
- Previous hydrovac, straight vac, oilfield, construction, utility, farming experience is an asset.
- Previous manual labour and experience working outside through winter preferred.
- Positive attitude towards safety and willingness to learn.
- Mechanical inclination an asset.
- Must be able to work with a partner and fit into the team atmosphere.
- Must demonstrate a strong customer service focus, being able to handle a wide array of customer requests on site, and interacting with many different personalities is key.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Safety tickets are not mandatory, but a great asset - First Aid/CPR, CSO, H2S, and Ground Disturbance.
- Must be ok with flexible hours. Start and end times vary day to day.
- Can listen to directions and follow procedures and work safely.
- Be prepared for physically demanding year-round outdoor work in all types of elements including heat, rain and snow.
- Other duties as required i.e.) cleaning of shop, parts runs, yard maintenance.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
