POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Director of Social Development, the Driftpile Cree Nation Social Development Department is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and community-focused individual to fill the role of Youth Motivational Worker. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional, through a three (3) year temporary term agreement, to make a meaningful impact by empowering youth, fostering leadership development, and creating positive opportunities for young people within the community.
The Youth Motivational Worker will play a key role in supporting the implementation and delivery of the Driftpile Cree Nation Youth Leadership, Mentorship, and Recreation Program. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and facilitation of impactful programming that promotes personal growth, leadership skills, healthy lifestyles, and positive life choices among youth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering youth leadership, mentorship, and recreational programming

Build positive and supportive relationships with youth participants

Provide mentorship, encouragement, and guidance to youth

Support life skills development through structured activities and programming
-
Promote healthy lifestyles, cultural awareness, community engagement, and positive decision-making

Participate in community events and youth-related initiatives

Maintain program documentation and activity reports as required

Work collaboratively with community members, families, and other departments
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in Human Services, Social Work, Recreation, Education, or a related field would be considered an asset)

Experience working with youth, mentoring, coaching, or community programming

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and other non-standard hours as required
-
Reliable transportation and a valid vehicle for work-related duties
-
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
-
Class 4 Driver’s License would be considered an asset

Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check
Agreement Length: Temporary Three-Year Agreement, June 2026- June 2028
