Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces and components, ensuring high-quality results that meet safety and aesthetic standards. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with a variety of tools and equipment used in industrial painting processes. The Painter will contribute to maintaining the integrity and appearance of our products while adhering to safety protocols and production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or masking prior to painting or coating application.
- Apply paints, primers, varnishes, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or power tools.
- Operate equipment such as cranes and forklifts when necessary for positioning large parts or materials.
- Use hand tools and power tools to repair or touch up painted surfaces as needed.
- Follow safety procedures related to chemical handling, equipment operation, and workspace organization.
- Perform inspections to ensure paint coverage is uniform and meets quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and proper storage of materials and tools.
- Assist with other manufacturing tasks such as assembly or machining when required.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment for painting tasks.
- Ability to operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation and coating thickness.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow.
- Experience with welding is a plus for surface repairs or structural modifications.
- Knowledge of machining processes can be beneficial for understanding component specifications.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes on all surfaces.
