Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Polysomnographic Technologist to join our home sleep apnea testing (HSAT) clinic. This role focuses on the preparation, education, monitoring, and analysis of Level 3 sleep studies to assist in the diagnosis of sleep-disordered breathing. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical team with accurate data collection and interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and instruct patients on the proper use of HSAT equipment for home-based sleep studies.
- Ensure correct application of sensors and proper device setup according to AASM and clinic protocols.
- Review returned HSAT recordings for completeness, signal quality, and technical integrity.
- Score HSAT studies and generate preliminary reports for physician review.
- Provide patient support throughout the testing process, including troubleshooting and follow-up questions.
- Maintain documentation of patient education, study results, and equipment tracking.
- Ensure all protocols follow infection control and patient safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment planning.
Skills and Qualifications
- Solid understanding of sleep medicine principles and AASM scoring guidelines for Level 3 studies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to assess data quality and artifact.
- Excellent communication skills to educate and support patients.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with HSAT equipment (e.g., Remmers, Nox T3, or similar) and analysis software.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT or RPSGT) certification is preferred.
