Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Power Platform Developer(Power BI-focused) to lead the design and implementation of a centralized business intelligence environment.
This is a hands-on, onsite role working closely with internal leadership to build a scalable reporting ecosystem from the ground up. While Power BI will be the primary focus, the ideal candidate will also bring experience with Power Automate and Power Apps to help shape a broader Power Platform strategy.
You will play a critical role in defining how data is structured, accessed, and visualized across the organization—partnering directly with business leaders to transform raw data into actionable insights.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Power BI & Data Architecture (Primary Focus)
- Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Build and optimize data models, semantic layers, and reporting structures
- Establish a scalable Power BI architecture across departments (Finance, Sales, Operations, etc.).
- Define standards for workspace structure, datasets, and governance.
Power Platform Integration
- Identify opportunities to leverage:
o Microsoft Power Automate for data orchestration and process automation
o Microsoft Power Apps for lightweight business applications tied to reporting workflows
- Support integration between Power BI and broader Power Platform solution.
Stakeholder Engagement & Discovery
- Work directly with leadership and department heads to:
o Understand current reporting tools and processes
o Identify reporting gaps and inefficiencies
o Define key KPIs and business metrics
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable data solutions.
Data Integration & Environment Buildout
- Consolidate and integrate data from:
o Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 o Microsoft Business Central (in progress)
o Synerion
o Other enterprise systems
- Help design and support a centralized data repository / reporting layer.
Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop a BI roadmap for phased rollout across the organization.
- Recommend best practices for:
o Data governance
o Security and access control
o Performance optimization
- Build the foundation for long-term BI and analytics strategy.
What We’re Looking For Required Experience
- Proven experience delivering Power BI solutions in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in:
o Data modeling (star schema, relationships, DAX)
o Data transformation (Power Query / ETL concepts)
- Experience building reporting environments from scratch.
- Ability to work directly with stakeholders and drive requirements independently.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Experience
o Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Business Central
o Multi-system data integration o Cloud-based BI or Azure data services
- Experience implementing Power Platform solutions beyond Power BI

Duration:6-month contract (Extension possible)
Important Note
This is a fully onsite role. Candidates must be available to work on location in Ontario. Remote work is not available for this position.
