As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping our fleet operating safely and efficiently.
Your responsibilities include:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Complete repairs while working toward industry-standard repair times.
- Perform CVIP inspections and repairs.
- Maintain accurate repair records.
- Mentor and support apprentice technicians.
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.
- Communicate repair updates and equipment concerns with supervisors.
- Stay current with new technologies and repair procedures.
- Occasionally work weekends as operational requirements dictate.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or Licensed Truck Mechanic.
- Valid CVIP Licence.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with heavy-duty truck maintenance.
- Must provide your own tools.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems (SRT experience is considered an asset).
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Comfortable using computers for electronic timekeeping and payroll.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle components weighing up to 120 lbs.
- Comfortable working around shop noise, exhaust, vibrations, and chemicals.
