Seeking a home health care aide to work with a quadriplegic adult male in his private home on Friday afternoons.
Duties
You MUST be able to do the following:
- Work independently; there will be training shifts initially, but then you will be working alone.
- Provide baths using a mechanical lift; client is 6’5”, so you must be able to physically manage this.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Provide wound care according to client’s needs.
- Be comfortable with a large family dog in the home.
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- Previous involvement in medication administration or nursing-related tasks is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfers or mobility assistance.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- Certification as a Health Care Aide or equivalent training is preferred but not required; willingness to undergo training is essential.
- Must enjoy dogs and be willing to incorporate him into the client's day.
