Steam Plant Supervisor | Power Engineering
Location: Kapuskasing, Ontario
Salary: $115,000–$130,000 CAD per year
INFINITEK is supporting an established industrial manufacturing operation with the appointment of a Steam Plant Supervisor.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Power Engineer with strong steam and boiler experience to take responsibility for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of a Steam Plant while leading and developing an experienced workforce.
We are particularly interested in 1st Class Power Engineers, although experienced 2nd Class Engineers who are actively working toward their 1st Class ticket will also be considered.
The role
As Steam Plant Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day planning, direction and leadership across the Steam Plant operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing Steam Plant operations
- Ensuring continuous steam and air are supplied safely and efficiently
- Developing and coaching team members
- Maintaining effective training and accountability practices
- Supporting preventive maintenance and production activities
- Supporting CAPEX and new equipment initiatives
- Contributing to Steam Plant budgeting and cost control
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Supporting reliable operation and long-term asset performance
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider manufacturing operation
- Maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
Ideally, you will have:
- 2nd Class Power Engineering TSSA qualification or higher
- 5+ years' experience in steam operations and boiler systems
- Ideally 5+ years' supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of industrial steam plant operations
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A proactive approach to operational improvement
- English language proficiency; French is an asset
1st Class Power Engineers are particularly encouraged to apply.
We will also consider a strong 2nd Class Power Engineer who is actively pursuing their 1st Class ticket and has the relevant steam/utility experience.
