Our Childcare Centre is looking for an On-Call Childcare Float to be a part of our team. You will be working closely with the Child Care Lead and Assistants in taking care of young children. You will be responsible for keeping a constant check on the children.
As a Childcare Float, you should ensure a safe and positive learning environment; you should also be able to assist with the development and implementation of various learning programs. Your job responsibilities will also include keeping the learning area clean and hygienic at all times. This is a fast pace roll as you will be floating in between classrooms and assisting leads.
To be able to perform in this job role, you should have proven experience in a childcare or similar educational facility. Moreover, you should be familiar with child development techniques and have active communication skills to work effectively with the Lead. A candidate who is highly motivated, creative, and patient will be considered.

Responsibilities
- Constantly monitoring and supervising the children
- Following daily tasks set out by the room Lead/Assistant
- Helping children with their meals and snacks
- Keeping an eye on the children during playground activities
- Reporting any emergencies to the Child Care Lead/Directors
- Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment for the children
- Ensuring that the legal guidelines and health and safety policies are followed at all times
- Acknowledging and responding to different developmental and behavioural levels exhibited by children
- Ensuring that the learning area is kept clean and safe at all times
- *Please note,* this is a fast pace position where float will be moving to and from different classrooms
Requirements
- High school diploma, College diploma, or a Bachelor’s degree
- Certification in Early Childhood Education (2 or 3)
- Clear and up to date police check with vulnerable sector check
- Proven work experience as a Childcare Assistant, Child Care Provider or a similar role in a Child Care Facility, Preschool or similar
- Up to date CPR & First Aid
- Familiarity with various child development techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A keen eye for detail and a good listening ear
- Good time management and organizational skills
- *Class 4 license given priority*
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Displaying high levels of motivation and patience
- Schedule- Monday - Friday, available between 7:00am-6:00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$28.50 per hour
