BOSS Staffing is assisting our client, a roofing material manufacturing company in the Etobicoke hiring a Maintenance Technician.
This client is located in the Evans and Browns Line area of Etobicoke .
We are currently hiring for the following positions at this facility!
Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate: $38.00 per hour
Shift: Rotating weekly – Week 1 Days 7AM-3:30PM – Week 2 Afternoons 3:30PM-12AM – Note client currently working rotating 12 hours shift 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am temporarily
Responsibilities & Skills
- Proficient in using hand tools for equipment fabrication, installation, and repair.
- Install, rebuild, and maintain process pumps and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery.
- Document maintenance activities and completed work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Repair and replace conveyors, packaging equipment, and other production machinery.
- Clean, lubricate, adjust, and replace defective machine components.
- Apply logical troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Safely use rigging equipment during machinery installation and maintenance.
- Obtain and maintain certification for forklift operation, aerial boom lift, and fall protection.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems and analog circuits.
- Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and servo systems.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Experience managing spare parts inventory and coordinating purchases with local suppliers.
Education: One of the following qualifications is preferred.
- Red Seal Industrial Electrician
- Red Seal Industrial Millwright
- Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Communication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees across multiple departments and functional areas.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working in varying environmental conditions.
- Regular handling of tools, equipment, and machinery controls.
- Ability to lift up to 51 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Valid driver's license required.
