Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Firm’s Partner, the Senior Accountant will work with a high degree of autonomy while receiving coaching and support as needed.
The role includes financial clean-up projects, reconciliations, audit support, budgeting, financial reporting, ERP implementation support, and process improvement initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Perform full-cycle accounting clean-up and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare adjusting journal entries and ensure financial accuracy
Assist with operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
Support year-end processes and liaise with external auditors
Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and Boards
Assist with grant reporting and provincial/federal compliance requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and strong client relationships
Qualifications & Experience
CPA designation (CPA, CA preferred) or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years of accounting, finance, or business analysis experience
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, particularly PSAS
Municipal experience preferred; public sector or non-profit experience is an asset
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
Part-time position: 1050 hours/year (21h/week) with flexible scheduling
Salary range: $42,000 – $57,750 based on experience and qualifications
4% vacation pay and additional compensation for health benefits
12 months contract renewable
