Blue Thunder Construction Ltd. is a rapidly growing construction company specializing in residential and commercial projects, including multi-story apartment buildings. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Worker / Concrete Finisher to join our professional team.
The ideal candidate has over 3 years of hands-on experience in concrete forming, pouring, finishing, and repair, with a strong understanding of safety, precision, and teamwork in a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, set, and align formwork, footings, and foundations according to blueprints and site plans.
- Mix, pour, spread, and finish concrete for the walls, slabs, sidewalks, curbs, driveways, and structural elements.
- Use trowels, floats, screeds, edgers, and power finishing tools to achieve required surface texture and finish.
- Install, align, and secure rebar, mesh, and anchor bolts to reinforce concrete.
- Monitor curing of concrete and ensure optimal conditions for strength and finish.
- Identify and repair surface defects such as honeycombs, voids, or cracks.
- Operate concrete saws, power vibrators, grinders, and other related tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, materials, and work area.
- Follow all Workplace Safety and Health procedures and use PPE at all times.
- Collaborate closely with foremen, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in concrete forming, placing, and finishing in commercial or residential construction.
- Strong technical skills in flatwork, vertical pours, footings, foundations, and formwork systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, level instruments, and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of proper concrete curing, jointing, and reinforcement techniques.
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting and manual work for extended periods.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are considered strong assets.
- English level: CLB 5 or higher.
- Must be legally eligible to work full-time in Canada for any employer.
