About InteliRain
InteliRain Inc. is a Calgary-based agricultural technology company developing and commercializing advanced precision irrigation solutions for center-pivot systems. Our technology combines field sensing, data analytics, artificial intelligence and automated control to help growers apply water more precisely, improve moisture uniformity and support stronger crop productivity.
We focus on practical, field-ready innovation that addresses the real operational needs of modern agriculture while supporting water conservation and long-term sustainability.
The Opportunity
InteliRain is seeking a motivated, relationship-focused Agricultural Sales Representative to develop and grow sales of our precision irrigation system across Southern Alberta. This is a consultative field-sales role working directly with growers, farm managers, agronomists, irrigation dealers and other agricultural partners.
You will manage the full sales process, from prospecting and farm visits to technical demonstrations, proposals and installation handoff. The successful candidate will understand agriculture and Ag equipment, enjoy building long-term customer relationships and be able to translate advanced technology into clear operational and financial value for growers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a Southern Alberta sales territory, with an emphasis on irrigated farms using center-pivot systems.
- Generate new business through targeted prospecting, farm visits, outbound calls, referrals, industry networking, field days and agricultural events.
- Build trusted, in-depth relationships with growers, farm managers, agronomists, irrigation dealers, consultants and other industry stakeholders.
- Assess each customer’s crops, fields, irrigation practices and business objectives, then present and demonstrate the right InteliRain solution in clear, practical terms.
- Develop customer-specific value propositions and return-on-investment strategies that connect the technology to operational, water-management and productivity benefits.
- Prepare accurate quotations, proposals, sales agreements and follow-up communications, and guide opportunities through to close.
- Coordinate with InteliRain’s engineering, operations and service teams on site assessments, demonstrations, installations, on-boarding and customer handoff.
- Maintain complete, current records in the company database, including sales activity, opportunities, forecasts, account notes and follow-up actions.
- Support customer retention and referrals through regular follow-up, responsive communication and a strong understanding of each operation.
- Monitor competing products, irrigation trends and regional market conditions, share field feedback internally and represent InteliRain professionally at trade show events.
Qualifications and Experience
- Four or more years of experience in agricultural sales, Ag equipment, irrigation, crop inputs, agronomy or another customer-facing agricultural role is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of Southern Alberta agriculture and irrigated crop production; experience with center-pivot irrigation systems is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, build a sales pipeline, manage a territory and develop long-term customer relationships while working independently.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and follow-up skills, with the ability to build trust and explain technical products in practical, outcome-focused language.
- Self-motivated, organized and goal-oriented, with a collaborative approach and consistent attention to customer commitments.
- Experience using CRM software, Microsoft 365 and digital sales tools is considered an asset.
- A diploma or degree in agriculture, agribusiness, agronomy, business, sales or a related field is an asset; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Valid driver’s licence, clean driver’s abstract and the ability to travel regularly throughout Southern Alberta; candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada and able to commute to Lethbridge or Calgary, or relocate before starting.
Who Will Succeed in This Role
- A credible agricultural relationship-builder who listens carefully and understands that every farm operates differently.
- A proactive salesperson who is comfortable opening new accounts, asking for the sales & business and following through consistently.
- A practical problem-solver who can connect technology to water efficiency, crop performance and operational value.
- A curious, coachable and dependable team member who communicates field information accurately and works effectively with technical and operational colleagues.
What InteliRain Offers
- Base salary plus sales commission.
- Comprehensive product and technical training, supported by direct access to InteliRain’s engineering, operations and leadership teams throughout the sales process.
- A high level of ownership, independence and long-term professional growth while developing an important agricultural sales territory.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- This is a field-based role requiring regular vehicle travel to farms, irrigation sites, dealerships and trade show events throughout Southern Alberta, with some seasonal schedule flexibility.
