We're looking for a reliable, customer-focused Front Store Clerk to join our Arborg team for the summer. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain retail experience, develop customer service skills, and work in a supportive community-focused environment.
Position Summary
As a Front Store Clerk, you'll help create a positive shopping experience for our customers by providing excellent service, maintaining an organized and well-stocked store, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the front store. You'll be one of the first people customers interact with and will play an important role in helping them feel welcomed and supported.
What You'll Do
- Open the store and prepare equipment for the day, including the lottery and photo processing systems.
- Process customer purchases accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and help them locate items throughout the store.
- Balance and reconcile cash trays at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Stock shelves and displays, ensuring products are organized, faced, and readily available.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment.
- Support daily store operations and assist with additional tasks as needed.
- Contribute to a friendly, respectful, and team-oriented workplace.
What We're Looking For
- Previous cash handling experience is an asset.
- Basic computer skills and comfort learning new systems.
- Friendly, approachable, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting and stocking duties.
Schedule
This is a casual summer position with the following regular schedule:
- Every Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Every second Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Every second Sunday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Additional weekday shifts may be available based on business needs.
Pay: $16.00-$16.50 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Arborg, MB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Work Location: In person
