West Coast Robotics is the leading provider of robotics technology for the dairy industry throughout British Columbia. We are the gold standard when it comes to dairy automation. As we continue to expand, we are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Robotics Technician - Dairy Farm Robotics and Product Specialist to join our installation and service teams throughout the Fraser Valley region.
This is a hands-on, on-the-tools position. You should have a passion for robotics applications in the field. A strong knowledge of electronics and electrical components is essential to succeed in this role as is some knowledge of mechanical components.
Please note that because of the nature of our work and the need to meet the needs of our dairy farm operators, out-of-town and on-call duties are an expectation in this role. Candidates with technologist diplomas in robotics and/or mechatronics from BCIT and UFV or comparable post-secondary institutions are encouraged to apply.
What You Need
Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience as a service tech, with experience servicing and troubleshooting mechanical, robotics, electrical, and/or other components is critical
- A engineering technologist diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, and/or robotics is an asset or a combination of experience and trades education in the electrical field is acceptable
- Candidates with a millwright background are encouraged to apply
- Willingness to travel throughout the Fraser Valley region
- A high level of urgency and detail orientation
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with our dairy farm operators
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office proficiency
- A valid BC driver license in good standing
