Position Summary
Bar Isabel Line Cooks are responsible for preparing Bar Isabel menu items to specifications, maintenance of a clean station with up-to-date mise en place as directed by the chef and sous chef. They should have extensive knowledge of the kitchen products that Bar Isabel offers, and adherence to cleanliness protocols and the high service standards of the restaurant.
Position Responsibilities
The incumbent will be accountable for the following:
- Responsible for working the grill or fryer stations as needed.
- Responsible for checking freezer product weekly.
- Responsible for pre-ordering and communicating those orders to the chef/sous-chef.
- Responsible for maintaining a correctly stocked mise en place in their station.
- Responsible for protein management, i.e. seafood, meats.
- Responsible for organization of the walk-in fridge.
- Responsible for accurately communicating par levels or low counts to the chef/sous-chef.
- Responsible for correct par levels for the station.
- Assist in waste management.
- Assist in clean down.
- Responsible for staff meal minimum once per week
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar position in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure.
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Able to work prolonged periods of standing in a kitchen.
- Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work nights and unpredictable hours.
- Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
