TacoTaco is a vibrant taco restaurant located in the heart of Kensington Market. We serve upscale tacos, fusion flavours, craft cocktails, and catering for events across Toronto. Our menu blends Mexican roots with Southern, Asian, and vegetarian influences, with halal meats and mostly gluten-free options.
We are looking for a reliable and energetic Cook / Line Cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in preparing beautiful, flavourful food.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook tacos, burritos, bowls, appetizers, and other menu items according to TacoTaco recipes and standards
- Set up and maintain an organized cooking station during service
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and meets quality standards
- Follow halal handling requirements and dietary standards (gluten-free and vegetarian items)
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and workstations
- Assist with food prep including chopping, marinating, portioning, and sauce preparation
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff during busy periods
- Support catering and event food preparation when required
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate restocking needs
- Follow all Toronto Public Health food safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and food presentation
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evening and weekend shifts
- Food Handler Certification is an asset
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg and stand for long periods

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 25-30 per week
Pay: From $17.75 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON M5T 2M2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
