Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and certified Acro Dance Instructor to join our vibrant team on Wednesday evenings. Only those with dance teaching experience will be contacted. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching Acro dance (minimum 1-2 years), working with children, and creating engaging learning environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students of all ages through movement, develop their skills, and foster a love for dance. The Dance Instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering dance lessons, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere, and supporting students' artistic growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate dance lesson plans tailored to students’ skill levels and interests.
- Teach various Acro Dance skills to a variety of ages with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Foster a safe, supportive, and motivating environment for students of all ages
- Provide individualized feedback to help students improve their technique and confidence
- Organize and oversee dance rehearsals, performances, or showcases when applicable
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure all safety protocols are followed during classes
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to create a cohesive curriculum and community atmosphere
- Engage with parents or guardians regarding student progress when necessary
- Assist with related activities such as tutoring or supporting classroom activities as needed
Skills
- Acrobatic Arts Certification or other recognized acro certification is an asset
- Strong ability to work effectively with children and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Ability to work with a wide range of ages
- Excellent communication skills to motivate and engage students of diverse backgrounds
- Experience working in classroom settings or early childhood education environments is preferred
- Creative mindset with the ability to design fun, educational, and dynamic lessons
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour while fostering a positive learning environment
