Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient restaurant operations to provide an outstanding dining experience.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, to ensure smooth operation
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high quality and presentation standards
- Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and company policies
- Handle cash register operations using Micros POS system and ensure accurate cash handling procedures
- Assist in interviewing and training new team members, fostering a positive team environment
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to prevent shortages or waste
- Enforce cleanliness and sanitation standards across the kitchen and dining areas
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Collaborate with restaurant management on menu planning, special events, and operational improvements
- Ensure compliance with all food industry regulations, including proper food handling and safety practices
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within the food service or restaurant management sector
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, for efficient transaction processing
- Experience in hospitality environments such as hotels or bars is advantageous
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in customer service and serving roles
- Background in the food industry with a focus on restaurant management or hospitality leadership is preferred
