Job Overview
Simolo Customs is a Canadian manufacturer of premium, fully electric Lifestyle Vehicles. We are seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Painter to take ownership of our in-house paint department.
This is not a collision repair role. You’ll be painting brand-new, custom-built vehicles in a clean, modern manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all automotive painting and refinishing operations
- Spray high-quality automotive finishes on new vehicles
- Oversee prep, masking, priming, sealing, and final finish
- Maintain paint booth quality, cleanliness, and workflow
- Set and uphold paint quality standards across all vehicles
- Troubleshoot defects and continuously improve processes
- Work closely with production and fabrication teams
- Mentor and support junior painters or paint assistants
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
Qualifications
- 5+ years of automotive painting or refinishing experience
- Strong knowledge of automotive paint systems and materials
- High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Leadership experience or ability to lead by example
- Experience in a manufacturing or custom shop environment preferred
- Red Seal certification or formal trade training is an asset (not required)
Compensation & Schedule
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience
- Monday–Thursday work schedule
- Full-time, stable, year-round employment
