Job Description: The Maintenance Department plays a central role in keeping the hotel running smoothly, through upkeep and preventative maintenance. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Worker must have strong maintenance knowledge, be a team player and can work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- To be proactive towards maintenance and to work to a high standard.
- Measuring and managing inventory of works and materials needed
- Carpentry, plumbing and electrical works as required at the hotel
- To work on a variety of maintenance projects assigned by Maintenance Manager
- To work on elevated platform when required.
- To drive the hotel van as required.
- To work in accordance with all relevant codes, legislation, and hotel procedures
- To have a high standard of Health and Safety awareness and conduct.
- Working with contractor and completing complex preventative and maintenance tasks
- Problem solving to determine best practice
- Perform duties as required by the Maintenance Manager and other internal stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Two-year minimum experience as a maintenance worker in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques, machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of public buildings
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- High School diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
- Must hold a Class 5 driver license
- Be a team player with a calm demeanour
- Be able to work independently
- Be able to physically lift 50 lbs
