Construction Coordinator
Healthy Planet is seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams throughout our project lifecycles of building new retail stores.
The Construction Coordinator will help manage projects from pre-construction through close-out, supporting drawings, schedules, site coordination, approvals, and issues resolution. The position requires strong communication skills, AutoCAD proficiency, and the ability to keep multiple moving parts aligned across design and construction phases.
The position is a full-time, hybrid position with projects spanning across the southern Ontario region.
This role may involve site visits and off-site meetings that are not always easily accessible by public transit, so access to a vehicle and a valid G2 license or above is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Support pre-construction and permit documentation, including drawing packages, spec sheets, and coordination of permit submissions.
Assist in developing construction schedules, obtaining quotes, and managing project budgets and procurement needs.
Coordinate site mobilization activities, including health and safety paperwork and readiness requirements.
Communicate weekly priorities with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to keep projects on schedule.
Prepare and update drawings throughout the project and distribute revisions to relevant stakeholders.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify quality, and resolve issues as they arise.
Support approvals with landlords, engineers, and other project partners.
Assist with close-out tasks, including final permits, documentation updates, and project completion procedures.
Respond to construction-related maintenance and repair requests as needed.
Qualifications
2–3 years of relevant professional experience in construction coordination, architecture, interiors, or operations support.
Ability to produce and manage permit and construction documents.
Experience coordinating contractors, consultants, and site activities.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and follow through on project tasks.
Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and construction process is considered an asset.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
