POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail oriented and highly motivated Accounting Associate to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Associate will provide support for day-to-day accounting operations. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are looking to gain hands on experience in general accounting, day-to-day financial operations and financial reporting. This position will support the Finance team with maintaining accurate financial records and compliance with the IFRS accounting standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment runs and vendor account management
- Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis
- Assist in the preparation of recurring journal entries
- Assist with month end and year end closing activities
- Assist with claims related tasks that impact financial reporting
- Perform data entry and routine accounting tasks on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
- Support the external audit by helping provide the necessary documents as requested
- Provide support to Assistant Controller with other tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Currently enrolled in the CPA program
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in accounting or finance
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
