We are currently experiencing a high demand for RPNs to support shifts in local retirement home settings.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Clinical Assessment & Care: Complete and maintain clinical care assessments, update care plans whenever conditions change, and coordinate with family members or substitute decision-makers.
Medication Administration: Safely distribute medications, check blood pressure, take glucose readings, and document compliance.
Team Leadership: Direct, teach, and supervise Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and other unregulated care providers.
Emergency Response: Act as first aid and manage medical emergencies; coordinate emergency responses in the absence of the Director of Health and Wellness.
Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary teams—including Nurse Practitioners, doctors, occupational therapists, and the Home and Community Care association.
Resident Relations: Facilitate family education, answer call bells, and address resident concerns proactively.
REQUIREMENTS
- 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in LTC and retirement
- Valid CNO license “without restrictions” to practice
- Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last 6 months
- Negative 2 step baseline TB test
- Negative TB test or Chest X-ray within the last 1 year
- Current BLS within past year
- Legal right to work in Canada (visa sponsorship not available)
- Access to a vehicle or valid driver’s licence is an asset or public transportation access
- Flexibility with scheduling shifts with our homes
- Interpersonal skills - empathy, organization, and communication skills required
- Physical capabilities - ability to stand & walk for extended periods of time. Perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and carrying.
SHIFTS
- Full-time, Part-time, and Casual positions available across 10 retirement homes in the Ottawa Valley
- Shifts availability - Days, Evenings, & Nights - 7 days a week
