Join an award-winning team!! We are currently accepting application for full-time Parts Counterperson. The Parts Counterperson receives and processes orders in person or by telephone using the The Belanger Ford Lincoln Centre Ltd. computer database and parts catalogues as necessary. He/she performs a variety of clerical duties, including providing price quotations, checking inventory for product availability, providing delivery dates to customers and verifying prices. The Parts Counterperson will keep the customer information updated, issue purchase orders and make routine decisions according to company policies and guidelines.
Job Duties
- Take orders for parts by telephone, technician counter, retail counter and wholesale accounts.
- Manage inventory and order parts and works to meet customers' needs (both external and internal).
- Establish rapport with customers by offering consistently high levels of customer service
- Provide information regarding parts, including their function, prices, applications and warranties.
- Locate the needed parts or service and any related parts or service in which customers might be interested.
- Research the availability of certain parts, either within the retail facility or from other sources, as necessary and must be able to search part numbers using the computer or standard catalogs.
- Maintain working knowledge of seasonal requirements for parts and of requirements for parts that arise because of recalls or specials in the Service Department.
- Help customers select parts.
- Provide customers with information about accessory parts and specials.
- Ensure that customers are made aware of the entire product line.
- Interact with Service Dept. to ensure smooth delivery of parts.
- Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Wearing proper safety equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Parts Counterperson
- Automotive parts knowledge a definite asset.
- Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Computer literacy.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Work Conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Work is performed in a combination of environments.
