Position Summary
VIP Soap Products Ltd. is seeking a motivated and results-driven Team Lead to oversee daily production activities and lead manufacturing employees in a fast-paced soap production environment. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational efficiencies are consistently achieved while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and support production employees during assigned shifts.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure adequate staffing to meet production demands.
- Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing feedback and training.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
Production Operations
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Ensure production processes are carried out efficiently and according to established procedures.
- Monitor production output and address operational issues promptly.
- Communicate production goals, priorities, and updates to team members.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and quality checks throughout the production process.
- Investigate and report quality concerns and implement corrective actions as required.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses in a timely manner.
- Participate in safety meetings and audits.
Inventory & Equipment
- Monitor production materials and communicate inventory requirements.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely and efficiently.
- Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities when necessary.
- Assist with equipment setup and changeovers as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in consumer products, food processing, or soap manufacturing preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems is an asset.
