Inspector (Union)
Intertek is searching for an Inspector to join our Caleb Brett team in our Levis, Quebec office.

The inspector is responsible for ensuring the accurate measurement, sampling, inspection, and documentation of petroleum products during custody transfer, storage, and transportation while complying with industry standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.
What you’ll do:

Perform quantity inspections of petroleum products during loading, discharge, and storage operations.

Gauge tanks and measure product levels, temperatures, and water to determine accurate quantities.

Collect representative samples according to API, ASTM, and company procedures for laboratory analysis.

Calculate product volumes and quantities using industry standards and approved measurement methods.

Inspect the condition of tanks, vessels, barges, railcars, trucks, and pipelines before, during, and after product transfers.

Prepare accurate inspection reports and certificates, ensuring all measurements and observations are properly documented.

Communicate with terminal personnel, vessel crews, laboratory staff, and clients to coordinate inspection activities and resolve operational issues.

Verify compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards while maintaining a safe work environment.

Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure reliable and accurate measurements.

Report discrepancies, contamination, product losses, or unusual conditions promptly and professionally to supervisors and clients.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing operational schedules.

Physical ability to work outdoors, climb tanks and vessels, and perform inspections in varying weather conditions.

Proficiency with computers, handheld devices, and inspection reporting software.

Dependability, flexibility, and a customer-focused attitude while maintaining quality and efficiency.
