Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the design and development of architectural projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on innovative projects within a collaborative environment, utilizing advanced drafting and project management tools. Fluency in English is required, and bilingual abilities in French are considered an asset.
Duties
- Develop detailed architectural drawings and schematics using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.
- Create and modify 3D models and visualizations with SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign to support project presentations.
- Prepare technical documents, blueprints, and schematics for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Utilize Bluebeam for document review, markup, and collaboration with team members and clients.
- Assist in project management tasks including scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Microsoft Outlook.
- Conduct analysis of design options considering structural integrity, cost efficiency, and compliance with building codes.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met accurately.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of design intent.
- Support construction phases by providing technical guidance during manufacturing or site implementation.
- Maintain organized documentation of project files and revisions for efficient workflow management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with architectural drafting software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, NavisWorks, Schematics tools, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong knowledge of construction processes in residential and commercial sectors.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to evaluate design options critically.
- Bilingual proficiency in English; French language skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities including time management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for presentations and client interactions.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical schematics.
- Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, Outlook, as well as CAD-based drafting tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to construction materials is advantageous.
- Educational background in architecture or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
