On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Network Engineer - Cisco for a 6 month contract role. This position is remote, with candidates required to be in the US Eastern Time Zone.
Network Engineer - Cisco - Job Description:
The project involves supporting a legal firm's network infrastructure as companies are merging, requiring additional help to support current staff. The focus is on maintaining and improving Cisco network technologies, monitoring, and documentation.
Network Engineer - Cisco - Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support for Cisco network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless).
- Monitor network health using SolarWinds and respond to alerts.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and access issues.
- Maintain ACLs and security configurations.
- Assist with ISE NAC administration and endpoint onboarding.
- Support the lead network engineer in daily operations.
- Document procedures, network changes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for network outages.
Network Engineer - Cisco - Mandatory Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking with Cisco technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco switching and routing (L2/L3 concepts, VLANs, STP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Hands-on familiarity with network monitoring tools, preferably SolarWinds.
- Understanding of firewall configuration and management.
- Practical experience with Access Control Lists (ACLs).
- Familiarity with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control (NAC).
- Experience with wireless controllers and enterprise Wi-Fi management.
Network Engineer - Cisco – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Legal experience or working with legal orders/legal applications.
- Experience with other monitoring/logging tools (Syslog, SNMP, NetFlow).
- Knowledge of network monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning best practices.
- Experience supporting senior/lead engineers in day-to-day operations.
- Technical writing/documenting skills.
Network Engineer - Cisco – Assignment Length:
This is a 6 month contract position with a requirement of 35 hours per week.
