Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our brand new dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures. Prior dental office experience and familiarity with Dentrix is required. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations while providing exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures
- Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including insurance verification for various providers
- Manage patient intake forms, update electronic health records (EHR), and review documentation for accuracy
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to answer inquiries and schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate dental records, including documentation review and filing of patient information
- Assist with front desk duties such as filing, data entry, and managing patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Support administrative functions related to health information management and office management
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and typing (10-key typing)
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette in handling multi-line phone systems
- Multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in all tasks
