Who we are looking for:
ACSA is looking for a Community Service Worker to help address food insecurity in Scarborough through capacity building and program implementation. We need a collaborative, passionate communicator dedicated to reducing food access inequities. If you have experience working with diverse populations, familiarity with local food resources, and are fluent in a second language, we encourage you to apply.

About the role:
· Program & Food Security Support: Assist in delivering nutrition, cooking, and FoodFit activities; collaborate with the Community Food Centre to develop initiatives that address food security.
· Garden & Urban Agriculture: Support Garden maintenance and the Backyard Gardening program, including participant communication and indoor/outdoor growing workshops.
· Outreach & Community Engagement: Build relationships with residents, foster leadership through capacity building, and facilitate community outreach across specified neighbourhoods.
· Communications & Administration: Maintain the Food Asset Map, manage program data, and create digital/social media content for workshops and program updates.
About you:
· Eligibility: Must be 15–30 years old and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, convention refugee, or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada.
· Core Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
· Knowledge & Experience: Experience working with seniors, adults, or youth, plus an understanding of Scarborough’s food resources, diverse cultures, and issues facing low-income families.
· Assets: Gardening/cooking experience, familiarity with Chester Le, Glendower, or Bay Mills communities, a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle, and proficiency in a second language (Arabic, Mandarin, or Farsi preferred).
· Availability: Must be available for occasional evenings/weekends and provide a mandatory police reference check.
What we offer:
8 Week Contract 35 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $17.60
