Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Butcher to join our cutting room. This role involves precise meat cutting, weighing and packaging, within a regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the beef industry, particularly in butchery and meat processing, with a strong focus on food safety and sanitation standards. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where craftsmanship and adherence to safety protocols are paramount.
Duties
- Perform meat cutting and trimming according to specified product standards using appropriate tools and techniques
- Package finished products efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Operate machinery related to food processing and packaging, ensuring proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed
- Maintain high levels of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas, including equipment and workstations
- Follow food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist in inventory management by accurately tracking product quantities and storage conditions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes and food safety practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in butchery or meat cutting within the food industry
- Knowledge of packaging techniques and manufacturing processes specific to meat products
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards, food safety regulations, and hygiene practices
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating and maintaining processing equipment is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of food safety protocols and quality assurance procedures
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks as required
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment through adherence to all safety guidelines
Pay: $24.50-$35.00 per hour
