Great Northern Contracting is seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Labourer to join our growing team. This position involves assisting with residential renovations, handyman services, and general construction projects throughout Barrie and Simcoe County.
The successful candidate will support various job site activities, including demolition, material handling, site preparation and cleanup, assisting skilled trades, operating basic hand and power tools, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently. Construction experience is preferred, along with a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with residential renovation and construction projects
- Load, unload, and transport materials and tools
- Perform demolition and site preparation
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with flooring, trim work, painting, and general carpentry tasks
- Follow safety procedures and company standards
Requirements:
- Prior experience in construction or related trades is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for entry-level candidates.
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, carpentry, caulking, flooring installation, tile laying, framing, restoration, and painting is a plus.
