Overview
The Clinic Network (“TCN”) operates virtual medical cannabis clinics across all Provinces in Canada, using an asynchronous model. ()The Nurse Practitioner provides care to patients, authorizes medical cannabis as a non-pharmacologic treatment modality if appropriate based on patient medical history and existing traditional prescription medications.
We are specifically recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner that is licensed in the Province of British Columbia. Other Provinces are a bonus. This is a remote role.

Primary Responsibilities
§ Nurse Practitioner (“NP”) Patient reviews patient charts that have been prepared using intuitive medical questionnaires uploaded into the secure EMR (), in readiness for the patient appointment
§ Function independently to perform age-appropriate history for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients
§ Based on patient medical history and existing prescription medications, determine if Medical Cannabis is a suitable treatment modality
§ Call patients as required based on your assessment and plan
§ Detect changes in a patient’s health and change treatment plans as necessary
§ Evaluate responses to treatments and medications
§ Implement interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability
§ Facilitate staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools on managing illnesses or injuries and disease prevention
§ Create Medical Cannabis Plans for patient and issue Medical Cannabis Documents in accordance with Health Canada regulations (prescription)
§ Allocate medical documents to License Seller
§ Participate in virtual NP meetings as required
Medicinal Cannabis
§ Provide cannabis therapy medical assessments for all TCN qualified medical patients
§ Provide appropriate medical authorization for TCN patients qualified for cannabis therapy
§ Liaison between patient, medical practitioner or legal representative when required
§ Work with Patient Care Representatives (“PCR”) on medical escalation issues and clinical understanding of patient histories and profiles
§ Execute an evidence-based protocol for medical cannabis patient assessments and education, which shall include:
o Risk versus benefit analyses;
o Creation and communication of a therapeutic plan;
o Determining whether an appropriately completed medical document should be provided to a patient and provide appropriate medical authorization for TCN patients qualified for cannabis therapy
o Medical cannabis counselling including dosing titration and any resulting side effects for TCN cannabis patients
o Documenting all assessments, plans, patient interactions, provision of ongoing care, monitoring, and follow-up into an Electronic Medical Record (“EMR”)
§ Using the Protocol, provide to patients referred by Company:
o Ethical, high-quality patient care
o Medical cannabis assessments and
o Protection of patient confidentiality - all of which meet the applicable standards of the College of Registered Nurses of each Province of Practice), Cannabis Regulations – SOR/2018-144, Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulation (ACMPR), Cannabis Act, and all applicable privacy laws (“Services”).
§ Maintain:
o A license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in required Provinces that is deemed to be in good standing with College of Registered Nurses for that/those Province(s). ()
o Pre-requisite education to prescribe controlled substances in the province(s) you practice in.
o The appropriate level of personal liability protection/malpractice insurance, as required by the College.
o Perform duties in a professional and responsible manner, in accordance with the guidelines set out by the College of Registered Nurses.
o Remain up to date with your knowledge about medical cannabis and seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge
Pain & Harm Reduction Programs
§ It is understood that TCN will be adding Pain and Harm Reduction programs in the TCN Winnipeg and Selkirk clinics, and the NP has expressed an interest in providing these services
§ TCN will establish the proper protocols for the NP’s participation in these services, conduct appropriate training and ensure that the NP has a trained MD supervisor for these delegated acts
Abilities and Knowledge
§ Knowledge of disease prevention
§ Perform the described responsibilities in a professional, competent () and timely manner

§ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word () and data entry skills
§ Knowledge of EMR system, TELUS CHR () preferred
§ Excellent time management and deadline adherence

Education and Experience
§ Master’s Degree in Nursing ()
§ Valid nurse practitioner license within the Province of British Columbia, all other Provinces an asset
§ Must have prescriptive authorization
§ Knowledge of disease prevention
§ Experience working in a virtual asynchronous model a strong asset
