Our client is a privately held real estate owner and operator with a growing residential portfolio across Canada. Headquartered in Vancouver, they have built a reputation for taking a hands-on approach to asset management, property operations, and resident experience.
Unlike larger institutional organizations where responsibilities can become highly specialized, this is a boutique environment where team members are exposed to all facets of the business. The organization is seeking an ambitious and adaptable Property Management Assistant who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow alongside an experienced leadership team.
The Position:
Reporting directly to the Property Management team, the Property Management Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a residential portfolio. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to establish or accelerate a career in property management or real estate operations..
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders and gain exposure to a wide variety of responsibilities including tenant relations, property operations, administration, vendor coordination, leasing support, and special projects.
This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys problem-solving, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to help wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Property Management team across a residential portfolio
- Assist with tenant communications and respond to resident inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Coordinate maintenance requests and liaise with contractors, service providers, and building staff
- Support lease administration, renewals, move-ins, move-outs, and resident documentation
- Maintain property records, databases, and filing systems
- Assist with invoice processing, expense tracking, and general financial administration
- Coordinate vendor scheduling and monitor completion of work orders
- Conduct property inspections and assist with operational reporting as required
- Support marketing, leasing, and resident engagement initiatives
- Assist with project coordination and various ad hoc assignments across the business
- Help ensure properties are maintained to a high standard while delivering an exceptional resident experience
The Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in property management, administration, customer service, hospitality, real estate, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly professional, proactive, and service-oriented approach
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset
- Experience with residential property management software is an asset but not required
- A positive attitude and willingness to take on responsibilities outside of a traditional job description
