Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Execution Director you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the projects assigned to you.
You will:
- Read and interpret plans and specifications to gain an understanding of the project scope.
- Meet with the Estimating Group to expand on the above and ensure an in depth understanding of the Scope and Budget of the project.
- Prepare, monitor and maintain project schedule
- Purchase materials and equipment
- Negotiate and complete sub-contracts with subtrades
- Co-ordinate with superintendents and site personnel to ensure project delivery targets are met.
- Prepare Execution and Commissioning Plans
- Co-ordinate and review General Arrangement and Fabrication drawings
- Co-ordinate with our Fabrication Shop to ensure fabrication and timely delivery of materials to site
- Manage the Change Order process.
- Ensure compliance with the standards and laws in force.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the various project stakeholders.
- Participate in the development of safe work procedures and promote a safe working environment on all your projects
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and prepare weekly reports on the status of your projects
- Using the company financial platform monitor the financial status of your projects and prepare monthly reports
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, work with co-ordinators to ensure timely preparation and submittal of all project close-out documentation.
Qualifications
This position is ideally suited to an individual possessing an Engineering degree with 5 – 10 years of progressive project management experience.
- Engineering Degree; other combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Proven high level ability to set priorities and multitask is essential to your success in this position
- Adaptability and resourcefulness in the dealing with challenges
- Strong knowledge of MS Project, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
- A Team player with strong organizational and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel
