About the role
Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (LM Canada) is recruiting a Technical Trainer Support Specialist to join our east coast training team where you will work as an embedded Lockheed Martin employee at a customer location. As a Technical Trainer Support Specialist, your primary duty will be acting as technical support during training events in our Synthetic Environment Advanced Combat Operator Trainer (SEACOT) and Synthetic Environment Advanced Warfare Operations and Leadership Facility (SEAWOLF) in support for our Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) customer. You will be flexible to program needs and could be called on to perform other assigned duties within the scope of training support. You will work both independently and with our embedded team in determining how to incorporate SEACOT/SEAWOLF into training plans, with a focus on system and classroom configurations and how to operate the Trainers to optimally support training. A significant component of this position involves technical troubleshooting during training events. The LM Canada staff with whom you will work consists of System Administrators, Naval Tactics Team Training Staff (NTTTS), software developers, support services and leadership teams.
Primary Responsibilities-
Open, flash up, configure, shut down and secure SEACOT/SEAWOLF;

Ensure the continuity of SEACOT/SEAWOLF training events through the quick identification and resolution of software and hardware defects that negatively impact training;

Support the RCN by providing instructors with training integration support;

Provide training to new instructors and refresher training to existing instructors on the use of SEACOT/SEAWOLF and its simulation modules;

Support LM Canada training staff in the design and development of “Train the Trainer” modules, training of new Instructors and NTTTS staff, courseware development, and coordination activities to meet customer requirements;

Maintain a strong knowledge of Trainers and CMS software modules and how they are utilized in SEACOT/SEAWOLF;

Provide cross-training to NTTTS in trainer support duties to develop redundant LM Canada support capacity;

Log and communicate SEACOT/SEAWOLF simulation defects and areas for enhancement;

Perform regression testing on newly installed builds;

Synchronize, review, and provide advice to RCN and DND Staff, regarding SEACOT schedules with Naval Fleet Schools (NFSs), Fleet Schedules, and other primary users, in balance with trainer resources, other In-Service Support (ISS) contractual requirements and LM Canada requirements;

Assist Team Lead with SEACOT/SEAWOLF usage reports and other duties, as required;

Prepare for and conduct tours and demonstrations of SEACOT/SEAWOLF;

Assist SEACOT/SEAWOLF System Administrators as required;

Complete LM Canada annual audit and training requirements;
- Be flexible to changing customer priorities and teamwork schedules which will result in any combination of work during and beyond core hours, to include semi-regular evening shifts and/or overtime;

Report infractions of Trainer Security Regulations;
Secondary Responsibilities:

Assist NTTTS and RCN staff with Tactical Control Room support on an as required basis;

Work as part of a team including other courseware developers, software engineers, media specialists, and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop training and courseware products;
What you bring to the role
- 1+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline;

Detailed knowledge and experience with Trainers and CMS 330;
-
Experience with Military trainers and synthetic training solutions;
-
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
-
Experience with course scheduling, authoring training materials, and training conduct;
-
Strong analytical and communication skills;
-
Strong knowledge of computers, peripherals, and networking;

Strong technical aptitude and technical problem-solving ability;
-
Ability to work with minimum supervision and follow common LMC processes;
-
Ability to obtain and hold a NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) SECRET security clearance.
Additional skills desired for the role
- Recent experience or demonstrated capacity to develop training material and/or instruct in a classroom environment;

Experience with Voice Comms and Naval tactics;

Previous RCN service in an Operator Occupation;

Experience with the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES);
-
Bilingual (English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese) would be an asset.
