Reporting to the CFO, the Global Controller will lead the accounting and controllership function across the BE Group’s multi-entity, multi-country manufacturing and distribution platform. This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity, strengthening controls, and scaling processes to support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Consolidated Reporting & Internal Controls

Own and lead consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across all legal entities.

Own and continuously improve the global month-end close and consolidation process, ensuring accuracy, speed, and scalability.

Manage intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, and elimination entries.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, multi-jurisdiction reporting, and internal policies.

Establish and maintain internal controls for accounting, audit readiness, and risk mitigation.

Own external audit relationship and lead the annual audit process
2. Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Financials
-
Act as a business partner to Operations and Supply Chain, translating financial performance into action plans that improve throughput, margin, and labour productivity.

Own the inventory costing model, including cost build-up, rates, overhead allocation, and variance reporting.

Analyze manufacturing performance including yield, scrap, throughput, labour efficiency, and productivity trends.

Ensure accurate inventory valuation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
3. Working Capital, Cash Flow & Treasury

Manage cash flow planning, liquidity, and investments to support operational needs.

Monitor working capital drivers, including receivables, supplier terms, and inventory turnover.

Conduct financial evaluation of capital expenditures, including ROI, payback analysis, and risk scenarios.

Manage banking relationships and treasury functions.
4. Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

Lead a team of 15 across Accounting, Payroll, AP and AR

Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, driving accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Lead ongoing development and optimization of ERP and financial systems to support scalability and reporting efficiency

Participate in strategic planning, including make-versus-buy evaluations and capital deployment decisions.

Build a culture of insight and learning, ensuring finance delivers timely, actionable intelligence including dashboards, KPIs, predictive trends
5. Financial Strategy & Forecasting

Support the CFO and FP&A function with financial insights aligned to operational and growth objectives

Develop and maintain financial models to support capital investment, pricing, and product profitability decisions

Provide scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives including capacity expansion, automation, and sourcing decisions
Key Skills & Attributes

Strong leadership presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders

High technical competence in Canadian tax and accounting

Excellent communication skills, including translating technical matters for non‑technical stakeholders

Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures and inventory accounting

Ability to balance hands-on execution with leadership oversight
Qualifications & Experience
-
CPA designation (required)
-
8–12+ years progressive experience in accounting/finance leadership roles

Experience in manufacturing and cost accounting strongly preferred
-
Experience in multi-entity / multi-jurisdiction environments
-
ERP experience (e.g., syspro, etc.)
