The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Engineering to lead the operation, maintenance, and long-term development of our facilities and infrastructure. Reporting to the General Manager/COO, this senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across all building systems while delivering an exceptional experience for members, guests, and staff.
The Director of Engineering provides leadership for facility operations, preventative maintenance, HVAC and mechanical systems, capital projects, asset management, budgeting, procurement, vendor and contractor relationships, inventory control, parking operations, and seasonal court bubble installation and removal. The role also ensures compliance with all health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, emergency preparedness standards, and Club policies.
The successful candidate will develop and execute long-term capital and asset management strategies, oversee annual operating and capital budgets, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and build a high-performing engineering team that supports the Club's commitment to excellence.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative and forward-thinking leader with strong technical, financial, and operational expertise. They have a proven track record of leading complex facilities, managing capital projects, developing teams, and driving operational performance within hospitality, private clubs, recreation, or similar service environments.
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of progressive senior leadership experience in facilities management, hospitality, private clubs, recreation, or a related service environment
- Strong financial management, project management, and people leadership skills
- Experience managing capital projects, preventative maintenance programs, and building systems
- Proven ability to lead teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required

Pay: $110,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
