Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter specializing in Structural Repair to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in carpentry, masonry, and restoration work, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This role involves repairing, restoring, and constructing structural elements using a variety of hand tools and power tools. The successful applicant will contribute to high-quality building projects, ensuring safety, durability, and adherence to project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute repair and restoration projects.
- Perform structural repairs including rebar installation, concrete forming, siding, roofing, and framing.
- Install cabinetry, flooring, tile, siding, and other building components with precision.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and masonry equipment to complete tasks efficiently.
- Conduct masonry work such as rebar installation and concrete forming for structural stability.
- Assist with construction painting, caulking, plumbing, electrical work, and other handyman tasks as needed.
- Measure and cut materials accurately for various projects involving woodwork or metal framing.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, masonry, restoration, or related construction fields.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings effectively.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and construction estimating software is preferred.
- Knowledge of concrete forming, rebar installation, roofing, siding installation, flooring installation, tile laying, cabinetry installation, and construction painting is highly desirable.
- Experience with plumbing and electrical systems is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as necessary.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license preferred; reliable transportation required.
- Construction experience combined with handyman skills or woodworking background will be considered an asset.
