Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator to support the administration and implementation of occupational health and safety programs across multiple terminals and operational locations. Working within a federally regulated transportation environment, this role plays an important part in supporting compliance with the Canada Labour Code Part II and associated regulations while helping operational leaders maintain safe and healthy workplaces. Reporting to the National OHS Manager, the Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator will work closely with Operations, Safety & Compliance, Joint Health & Safety Committees, and employees to coordinate safety initiatives, support inspections and investigations, facilitate training, and maintain regulatory compliance documentation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, supporting operational teams, and developing their career in occupational health and safety.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hours
What you will do
Health & Safety Program Support
- Support the administration and implementation of occupational health and safety programs across multiple locations. Assist in maintaining compliance with the Canada Labour Code Part II and associated regulations. Maintain health and safety records, documentation, and compliance files. Support the coordination and communication of corporate safety initiatives.
Inspections, Investigations and Compliance
- Conduct workplace inspections and field observations at terminals, yards, shops, and office locations. Assist with job hazard analyses and workplace risk assessments. Support incident investigations, documentation, corrective action tracking, and follow-up activities. Assist with Emergency Response Planning activities, evacuation maps, and emergency preparedness initiatives.
Joint Health & Safety Committees
- Coordinate Workplace Health & Safety Committee meetings and support Health & Safety Representatives. Prepare documentation, maintain records, and distribute meeting minutes. Support annual committee requirements and compliance activities.
Training and Employee Support
- Coordinate occupational health and safety training programs. Maintain training records and monitor completion requirements. Support employee onboarding and safety orientation activities. Provide day-to-day support to operational leaders, supervisors, employees, and committee members.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain safety metrics, dashboards, and reports. Track incidents, inspections, training compliance, and corrective actions. Support data analysis, trend reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
- Diploma, certificate or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, environmental H&S, HR or a related field
- Fluent in both English and French
- 1-2 years of OH&S experience preferably within transportation, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or a related operational environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
- Proficiency with MS office Suite, including Excel

- Valid drivers’ license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region
Along with the following Skills & Competencies:
- Transportation, logistics, warehousing or a federally regulated environment

- Progress toward a CRSP or other recognized health and safety designation
