Overview
We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repairing and maintaining small engines, including zero turn lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other outdoor power equipment. The Small Engine Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small engines ( John Deere, Perkins, Deutz engines) and related equipment
- Perform repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance on various small engine machines
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs accurately
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service performed
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Stay updated on the latest repair techniques and industry best practices
Requirements
- Proven experience working with small engines or outdoor power equipment is preferred
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues efficiently
- Knowledge of engine components, fuel systems, electrical systems, and carburetors
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and hand/power tools effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Maintaining stock delivery and parts
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in small engine repair is a plus
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for equipment pickup/drop-off purposes
