We are looking for a detail-oriented and forward-thinking Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you will play an active role in financial reporting, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end and year-end close.
This role offers more than traditional accounting responsibilities. The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, account analyses, and financial reporting
- Analyze financial and trial balance variances, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective action
- Monitor inventory transactions, costing, valuation, and general ledger reconciliations
- Support inventory counts and identify slow-moving, expired, or obsolete inventory
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, government filings, and audit preparation
- Support annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and financial planning activities
- Prepare financial analyses, schedules, and management reports
- Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial records
- Improve Finance processes, procedures, systems, and reporting tools
- Use Excel, ERP systems, automation, and AI-enabled tools to streamline reporting and reduce manual work
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other departments to support accurate and timely financial reporting
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accounting
- Three to four years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within an inventory-based industry
- Strong experience with full-cycle month-end close, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and year-end preparation
- Experience supporting budgets and forecasts
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Proficiency with ERP or accounting systems such as Spire, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite
- Strong Excel skills, including lookup functions, pivot tables, data validation, and reconciliations
- Exposure to Power BI, Copilot, automation platforms, or other data analytics tools is an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, professional integrity, and sound judgement
