Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Saturday server for our bustling French bistro. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for exceptional guest service, a strong background in food and beverage service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with POS systems such as Micros POS, food handling, and restaurant operations is essential. The position is part-time, with a focus on Saturdays, and requires a dedicated professional committed to delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate orders and input them efficiently into the POS system, including Micros POS
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize sales opportunities
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and cash handling
- Ensure proper food safety and sanitation procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with food preparation or kitchen support as needed during busy periods
- Manage guest inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive dining experience
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas, tables, and dining spaces in accordance with sanitation standards
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a server in a restaurant setting, preferably within the food industry or hospitality sector
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy shifts
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for billing and cash handling purposes
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen support is a plus
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including serving techniques, upselling strategies, and guest services
- Must be available to work on Saturdays; flexibility for additional shifts is advantageous
